Reydon is in a fantastic location, just a mile outside the popular seaside town of Southwold on the Suffolk Heritage Coast. As such, it is an ideal base for those wanting all the components of a seaside holiday cottage but in a more peaceful setting.
There is everything you’ll need for your holiday here, with two well-stocked grocery shops, selling essential items as well as locally produced fruit and veg, and an excellent local ‘watering hole’, The Randolph. For the more active, you can easily walk from your holiday cottage to the centre of Southwold where you can enjoy the beach huts, with their eclectic names and colourful paintwork, stop for a coffee on the Pier, climb the Lighthouse for the magnificent views, or simply wander along to the Harbour to buy some fresh fish at the harbour fish shacks or the Southwold Smokehouse – ask for a bag of ice to keep it cold for the walk home! If you can't be bothered to cook then just nip down to The Harbour Inn or The Nelson or The Boardwalk Restaurant at The Pier.
There are some great walks right on the doorstep: the ancient woodland of Reydon Woods for starters, as well as a walk across the River Blyth and Bailey Bridge to the charming seaside village of Walberswick. Stop off for a pint and a ploughman's or fish pie at The Bell Inn. Further down the coast, there is a stunning heathland, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which sits under the auspices of the National Trust and RSPB Minsmere.
We'll also send you occasional emails about Suffolk, special offers and new exciting holiday homes.
