2 baths Why Margo's Cottage? Well, Margo was an artist and potter and her tiles are still in the Coach House shower room (the neighbouring property) and her legacy of memories given to other people by her personality should be recognised! Whilst the house was being renovated the owners found their names time and again whether in writing behind cupboards or old wallpaper they documented their presence there themselves, or in the stories people told us of their lives here in this cottage.
GROUND FLOOR
Kitchen - You enter into the fully stocked kitchen with Smeg appliances and a dishwasher. The property benefits from a large double oven which is perfect for the larger gatherings
Shower Room / Loo / Utility area - Downstairs shower room and loo with a separate area for the washing machine and tumble dryer
Dining Room - A gorgeous and spacious dining room with a large south facing window. Our favourite touch is the wood burner!
Sitting Room - Another spacious room with extremely comfortable furniture. A lovely open fire and views overlooking the church
Study - just off the sitting room you will find a little "study" alcove with a desk area
FIRST FLOOR\
Steep carpeted stairs with a rope rail rise and turn to the first floor (not suitable for people with any mobility challenges!)
Master Bedroom - Lovely king size bed and en-suite bathroom
Second Bedroom - Can be made as either a king bed or a twin, this room is adjacent to the family bathroom
Family bathroom - Family bathroom with Bath and loo
TOP FLOOR
Twin room - This lovely room at the top of the house has two single beds (probably more suited to the kids due to the very steep stairs and low beds in the eaves!). You can also view the river from the window up here and please remember that their is a blackout blind on the window with a little tag to pull it down (a couple of guests hadn't realised it was there - hence the mention!).
OUTSIDE
Fantastically located, just off the market square with outdoor seating in the courtyard area. There's no allocated parking for the cottage but street parking in the Market Square and car parks at the Castle and Quay.
We had a lovely few days staying at Margo's Cottage. We have been to Orford before and love the village and the cottage, which is very centrally located, worked well for the six of us. The cottage had plenty of space with several reception rooms and three bathrooms. The kitchen is quite small and you have to walk through it to get to the shower room, so at times it did get quite congested. We had beautiful weather so did a lot of walking and visited Snape one day and enjoyed a delicious meal at the Butley Oysterage.
Really loved staying here. Vlean, full of character. Close to billage centre. Very peaceful. Perfect stay.
An amazing property in one of our favourite places. The only issue was the lack of WiFi (communicated by Stay at Suffolk) which just took the edge off an otherwise faultless stay …
We stayed in this lovely cottage for a friend’s wedding in Orford. We all loved the air BnB and it was a perfect base to have a lovely weekend. Beautiful surroundings and cosy living room. Thanks for having us!
The position of Margot’s was good for pubs and shops. No on site parking was not an issue as there was plenty of street side parking. Might not be so easy in high season. The property was ok, but for the price it was a bit rustic. Not a major issue, but lighting in sitting room and dining was a bit lacking . Would definitely return to Orford, but maybe a different property.
Great place in a fantastic location, great for walks and enjoying Suffolk
Charming cottage superbly located in gorgeous Orford. We’ll be back!!!
Really great house in central Orford location. Kitchen quite small but well equipped. Comfortable house and loved our 2 week stay

A nicely appointed house in the heart of Orford. It is great for a short UK getaway
