There are great walks (and cycle rides) right on the doorstep: with secluded dog walking fields, the ancient woodland of Reydon Woods for starters, as well as a walk across the River Blyth and Bailey Bridge to the charming seaside village of Walberswick. Further down the coast, there is a stunning heathland, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which sits under the auspices of the National Trust and RSPB Minsmere. After exploring the area, enjoy lunch or dinner in the numerous local pubs and restaurants, such as The Angel in Wangford with great food, friendly staff, and a cosy atmosphere. No frills, just a proper Suffolk welcome.

Clean, comfortable accommodation in a rural setting outside Southwold. A car would be essential. The accommodation is well equipped but as we stayed during a heatwave, we missed not being able to make ice as the larder fridge didn't have an icebox.

Very clean property in a lovely, peacefully quiet lane only five minutes drive into Southwold. Compact cooking area with basic equipment. Compact area with sofa and tv. Nice welcome pack. Quite a dark property so we wouldn’t choose to stay other than in the summer. We felt it was ok for a short break although we found the bed and the sofa to be a bit uncomfortable. We appreciated the early (2pm) check in which was offered a couple of days before our stay.

What a beautiful little hideaway within walking (@40 min) distance of wonderful Southwold. Such a great little find, spotlessly clean and so well thought out. The bed linen and towels smelt beautiful and the little extras made all the difference. We cannot wait to stay again! Thank you 😊

This was our first trip to Southwold. My husband and I stayed in Sedge Cottage for 6 days. The weather wasn't great but we had a wonderful time sightseeing and looking for new places to explore. We were extremely lucky that our hostess, Beth, was in the premises next door and gave us a very informative tour of the area. Sedge cottage is a lovely homely and cosy place. It had everything we needed to feel comfortable there. The TV has Netflix and other channels, which was useful during the bad weather. We wish to thank both Beth and her husband Maarten for being such good hosts and kind to us. We hope to see you again soon.

Our hosts were very approachable and friendly. Very peaceful location and lots to do. Our dogs loved the beaches and the nearby field for walks.

We had a great time, the place was really lovely and cosy, with beautiful surroundings. The house was well equipped and the host was very friendly. Only a 15 min drive from Southwold. We would definitely come back.
