1 baths Mill Lane is a traditional Southwold cottage with exposed ceiling beams and a wood burning stove in the living room. The coastal-style furnishings suit the setting, and the cottage has a comfortable, welcoming feel throughout.
The kitchen is well equipped, with a dishwasher, oven, hob, fridge freezer, toaster, microwave and coffee machine, plus a dining bench for meals at home. The living room, centred around the wood burner, is a lovely space to relax in after a day out.
There are two bedrooms: a double with white linen and a navy headboard, and a bunk room suited to children or friends sharing. We recommend 2 children of appropriate ages for the bunkbeds or one adult. A modern shower room serves both. To the rear, a small enclosed courtyard offers a sunny, private outdoor space.
One small, well-behaved dog is welcome to stay with you.
Mill Lane is centrally located, just a few minutes' walk from the beach, close to the High Street, and an easy stroll to the pier.
Southwold has an excellent food scene. The Sole Bay Fish Company at the harbour is well known for fresh seafood, Two Magpies Bakery is a favourite for breakfast, and The Black Olive deli on the High Street is well stocked for picnic supplies. For dinner, Sutherland House is a wonderful choice for seafood, and The Crown is reliable for good food and wine. The Lord Nelson is widely regarded as the town's best pub.
Walberswick is a short rowing ferry ride across the River Blyth, Aldeburgh is around half an hour along the coast, and Snape Maltings is well worth a visit if there's an event on.
