October 2024 review - "We really enjoyed our stay. The flat is spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped. The location is great and we enjoyed lookking out over the High Street. we would definitely choose to stay there again."
As soon as the owners saw the property they knew that 115E High Street was ‘Meant To Be’ a holiday home. One of the owners is a London-based interior designer who has brought her own taste and style to the property with designer fabrics and wallpaper, rooms adorned with beautiful pictures and rugs.
GROUND FLOOR
The front door opens directly into a small private hall with stairs to the apartment.
FIRST FLOOR
Carpeted stairs lead into the designer kitchen/breakfast room with a door into the living room. There are hard floors throughout, except for the bedroom which is carpeted.
KITCHEN/BREAKFST ROOM
A lovely big kitchen/breakfast space with wide sash windows and a high ceiling, sitting at the back of the apartment with carpeted stairs rising to the second floor. The stylish breakfast unit comprises a Neff electric oven with induction hob and extractor, slimline dishwasher and a fitted fridge with freezer compartment and freestanding microwave.
THE LIVING ROOM
A beautiful bright and quiet room, overlooking Aldeburgh’s full of interest high street. The room is furnished with luxurious, colourful fabrics, a two-seater sofa, cosy armchair, occasional table a TV and a wood-burning stove.
SECOND FLOOR
Stairs rise from the kitchen to the first-floor landing.
The spacious bedroom is furnished with a king size bed, dressing table, a chair, an armoire and bedside tables.
BATHROOM
Relax in style in the freestanding claw foot bath in this exceptionally big bathroom. There is also a luxurious walk in shower cubicle; a wash basin sitting in a vanity unity, WC and heated towel rail sunlight from two windows and plenty of storage space for your toiletries.
PARKING
Guests can park for a couple of hours on the roadside outside the apartment and for longer on nearby roads where the parking is unrestricted, or with a weekly ticket at a local car park.
Access - there’s a gate and path down beside Reeds famous second hand bookshop that leads to a door, opening into a courtyard where you’ll find the door to Meant To Be.
There is no outside seating at the property – but Aldeburgh’s shingle beach is less than a minute away with plenty of benches and the promenade wall to sit on to enjoy your open-air ice-cream and/or fish and chips.
Comfortable and well equipped. Great location
Had a great stay in Suffolk. The apartment is in a great location, walkable to all local shops and restaurants. It was very clean and well equipped, would have no hesitation in recommending it.
This very sweet maisonette right on the high street was perfect for our long weekend in Aldeburgh. Lots of fabulous food and great walks, and easy to find free parking nearby as well. The flat is small but cosy, and the bath was luxurious! I would say the cleaning fee is very steep, especially for our short stay and compared to other Airbnb cleaning rates.
Really comfy apartment in the heart of town and close to beach. Will definitely stay again
I have stayed in many Airbnbs all over the world and this is right up there with the best. Great location. Great communication. Kitted out superbly and with great thought to what guests would need and value. Quiet. Clean. A really great place for a weekend for two in a wonderful place (the weather helped!). I would love to come again.
lovely apartment in the heart of Aldeburgh
A very tastefully decorated property which had all the amenities that we needed for our six night stay. Ideally located in the heart of Aldeburgh. Although it is on the High Street there was no road traffic noise at night. Aldeburgh has some fine restaurants all within easy walking distance of the property. Parking wasn’t a problem during our stay (in March): we used a combination of the free 2-hour street parking (between 9-6pm), the car parks (about £4 for 4 hours), and the free parking in the roads behind the property. Parking may be more of an issue in the summer months. Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable stay in an impressive property.
Great stay, well located, cosy and comfortable.
Perfect location and lovely accommodation

First time visitors to the Suffolk coast, and we were delighted with our base at ‘Meant to be’ in Aldeburgh. Lovely apartment, tastefully decorated & very well appointed . Super location (supermarket next door was so handy!) right in the high street within easy walking distance of lovely shops, great restaurants & pubs & a couple of minutes walk to the beach. Lots of interesting places to visit within 30mins drive too. A perfect spot for a long weekend break, would have no hesitation in recommending
