We had a wonderful family weekend at the Salty Dog. It was the perfect location for walking into the beautiful town of Aldeburgh, the wonderful beach and lovely local restaurants which specialise in freshly caught fish. The property was beautifully and all the bedrooms were spotlessly clean and comfortable. Directions to the property were accurate and the key safe was easily accessible. A fantastic property which we would be delighted to recommend and would very much enjoy staying there again. Thank you. Sean and Sue.

Great place to stay for a family holiday. Comfortable and relaxing, walkable to town and to the beach even with young children. Well equipped kitchen, very comfy beds, a home from home, would definitely recommend!

Overall this was an enjoyable experience. The only issue was that the property was not ready for our arrival. Having traveled from overseas this was not ideal. In fairness the S.i.S. folks were very receptive and accommodating and made our stay a pleasant experience and we would definitely consider going back to the same place. The house was well appointed, great garden and lovely sitting room. Perfect for our multi generational family.

We had a great family trip to Aldeburgh, the house was great for what we needed (2 couples and a single, but would easily suit 3 couples or 2 in the twin room). Only about a 10 min walk to the sea front and a nice pub close by (The Railway Inn) which had live music on the Saturday night. Ample space with a nice little garden, comfy beds and a well stocked kitchen, would certainly stay again.

We had a very pleasant stay at the “Salty Dog”. The house is a comfortable home from home with a well equipped kitchen, cosy living rooms and comfortable bedrooms. It’s an easy 20 min walk into town and the beach and there is a good playground and shops 5 mins away.

We had a lovely stay at “Salty Dog” in Aldeburgh. An immaculate house that felt very home-ly in a quiet location…we could have walked to the town and the beach if we wanted to but we were busy doing other things so that will have to wait till next time. We have stayed in lots of cottages over the years and we were impressed with how well equipped the house was, particularly in the kitchen. We wanted a chilled break after a busy few weeks at home and have left “Salty Dog” feeling fully relaxed and rested so it has certainly fulfilled that brief!

This rental was excellent in many respects. However we were plagued by ants in the kitchen and especially on the work surface for the whole of our 4 nights stay. There is ant repellant spray in the kitchen but we felt this is an issue which needs to be resolved at source by the owners. Also, the quality of the bed linen and the bedding was disappointing. Poorly fitting polyester cotton sheets and pillow slips together with a duvet too small for the king size bed (double rather king size I am assuming) . It is many years since we have had to sleep on polyester cotton sheets anywhere. We also found a dirty sheet in one of the linen baskets. Finally the freezer is so iced over it was extremely difficult, basically impossible, to use. These issues suggest to me that Stay in Suffolk are not paying enough attention to detail in their management of this holiday rental property.
