We had a lovely weekend stay in Alderton. The property was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing break. The garden was beautiful. The location is ideal, with an easy walk to the local pub, Swan Inn, where we had a fantastic evening of drinks and games with Kevin the owner of the pub and the very welcoming locals. It really added to the charm of the trip. We took a short drive over to Bawdsey for a beautiful coastal walk, followed by dinner at The Ramsholt Arms, we had great food and stunning views over the river. There’s a well-stocked local shop just a couple of minutes’ walk away, which was really convenient for picking up essentials. All in all, a wonderful stay in a great location. We’d happily return!

We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. The place was nice and clean and the area is so nice and quiet. We enjoy spending time in the area and will be looking to stay with them again

Small but cosy accommodation. Location itself is fairly modest, but only a few minutes drive to some good pubs and exhilarating walks. The nearest pub is only a few steps away, although we didn’t go in this one. Was nice to see a small village shop, although again we didn’t have cause to pop in. The place was warm when we arrived, although the pullswitch for the bathroom radiator was broken….and the bathroom was very cold. Kitchen was compact and fine, although would have been handy to have a few more serving utensils and a couple of oven trays. As I was cooking Christmas dinner I had the foresight to bring a few kitchen bits of my own…so was ok. Knives were good quality but could have done with sharpening. Cooker was good. Bed was comfortable and nicely made up. Games cupboard was good as we had forgotten to bring any. I had to lean out of the bedroom window to break bits off of a tree that was scrapping and tapping agains the window in the winds. An enjoyable stay!

Perfect bolt- hole (all year around) to come back to after a day on the coast or the marshes, walking, bird watching or looking for fossils.

This is the second time we have stayed in this cottage and it was just how we remembered it. It's a bit off the beaten track, but if you like peace and quiet then it's perfect for you. We would recommend, but nothing is within walking distance, so a vehicle is a must!

A very lovely, well presented cottage which had all amenities needed for a short stay. Comfy beds with nice linen. Very clean and tidy. Good location to tour the area. However, the property is on a very busy main road which meant we couldn't open the windows to the front due to excessive noise. Bedrooms could do with blackout blinds as they were very bright from 5am. The garden was perfect for our dogs but extremely overgrown and needs cutting back. The biggest issue was the very low door frames which for any guest over about 5' 10" meant having to be constantly aware even though there were nice signs advising you to duck. The listing really should have mentioned this, likewise the steep step down into the property and the high step up into the main bedroom. The listing really should be updated to show the pubs true opening hours and lack of food, something mentioned in previous feedback from 2022! Overall, I would recommend this property as long as people are aware of the above.
