Driftwood Beach Hut, Southwold

Private room
2 guests
Studio
0 beds
1 baths
A beach hut on Southwold’s colourful seafront is the ultimate addition to a British seaside holiday, giving you a base where you can change; shelter on a windy day; or relax in the shade. Driftwood is conveniently close to the pier to the south so you can stroll along to buy an ice cream or fish and chips! Availability is from 10am on the day of arrival but no access on the day of 'departure'.

The space

No 79 is also particularly well designed and equipped for a trouble-free day on the beach with a selection of chairs and stools to move around with the sun, and fixed tables inside which conveniently flip down to give you more space when you want it, as well as a changing curtain in the corner.

The kitchen’s ready for any weather with a gas stove (gas provided), a kettle, coffee and tea pots; plenty of crockery, plastic plates, glasses etc; cutlery, a wash bowl and some cleaning materials so all you need to bring is the hamper of food and some drinks to keep you going for the day. An assortment of buckets, spades, bats and balls are stored in a chest to keep the little guests busy and there’s space for you to leave your own towels and beach gear safely overnight (please note towels are not provided).

Beach huts are incredibly popular so be sure to book early. Guests staying at The Pink House on Chester Road, just a short walk up the steps, can enjoy a 10% discount so please get in touch with Stay in Suffolk to book (first come first served!)

Please note that this is not residential accommodation, i.e. you cannot sleep here, it's purely a beach hut for fun by the seaside during the day.

Great to have a beach hut in southwold

A well stocked beach hut not far from the pier and cafe. Lock box to access and no issue with the facilities, the confusion comes from check in instructions. Check when you book because the arrival day is not the day you access the beach hut, it’s the next morning even if your confirmation says 9am access on the day you wanted! Felt like I lost a day, they let me access in the afternoon of the day I wanted, but still frustrating.

It’s a beach hut - as described. Good to be able to use it from early in the morning on the day of check in till the evening of check out day. Lots of beach toys and activities to keep entertained - comfy chairs and useful fold away stools and tables. Gas cooking stove and kettle was useful - plenty of cutlery and utensils etc. Right on the beach for a perfect view - near enough to the pier and other cafes on the promenade but far enough away from busy spots. Highly recommend and would return without hesitation!
