WOODBRIDGE IS A BEAUTIFUL AND VIBRANT MARKET TOWN ON THE BANKS OF THE RIVER DEBEN
The ‘gem’ in Suffolk’s crown, Woodbridge combines excellent shops with superb pubs and restaurants and numerous activities both indoors and out. On the edge of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Woodbridge is the perfect base from which to explore the Suffolk Coast and its many tourist attractions.
Things to do:
1. The River Walk and Tide Mill
This was voted the most loved element of Woodbridge by its residents. Many love to enjoy a coffee on the Quayside, stroll along the riverside paths admiring the iconic working Tide Mill and soak up the whimsical vistas across the river – maybe even spotting the local seal!
2. Independent Shops & Fabulous Foodie Venues
Covering every type of item from DIY and craft supplies to wool shops, outdoor clothing, boutiques, deli cook shops, tailors, and even a violin shop (almost as iconic as Tide Mill). You are spoilt for choice when it comes to tucking into great local produce, prepared by quality chefs, from cafes like The FireStation to cocktails and dining at The Crown at Woodbridge, there are many ways to enjoy an evening of food in this great market town.
3. Local Markets
Frequent markets are held on the Market Hill in the shadow of the beautiful Shire Hall. Seasonal food markets, (look out for locally grown asparagus) vintage markets, craft markets and many more supplement the local shopping scene throughout the year and give the local producers an opportunity to meet customers and show off their wares.
4. National Trust Sutton Hoo
National Trust Sutton Hoo is home to one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of all time. Walk around the ancient burial mounds and discover the incredible story of the ship burial of an Anglo-Saxon king and his treasured possessions. Come face to face with your ancestors and explore the award-winning exhibition, the full-size reconstruction of the burial chamber, stunning replica treasures and original finds from one of the mounds, including a prince's sword.

Very clean, 2 big double rooms and 2 bathrooms. Next to the river deben but overlooks the train track not the river Very peaceful and a great location walkable to everything in Woodbridge centre All in all a great holiday let apartment

Amazing Airbnb spot, very clean and very nice especially for Suffolk. The interior is beautiful and modern. The only downside was the lift was broken when we got there

Pros : Lovely well appointed apartment, very close to all of Woodbridges amenities. Very clean, stylish and roomy. Cons : It is a second floor apartment and the lift was out of order during our stay, which we were not advised about. Not an issue for us but could be problematic for those with heavy luggage or mobility issues so worth checking. However we did get an apology from Stay in Suffolk who were not aware it had not been fixed. We also had problems connecting with the wifi advertised within the apartment and in the comms, Stay in Suffolk came back to us quickly with an alternative, but that had weak security so not ideal. Overall would definitely stay again but would check on lift and wifi issues

Fantastic accommodation in a fantastic location for the town and the quay and particularly if you have a toddler who loves trains. The only negative is that the lift was out of order twice during our short stay meaning we had to lift our luggage up two flights of stairs on check in and check out. This was possible for us but definitely a big inconvenience but something to consider if this would be challenging.

The Apartment is in a prime location with good parking for 2 cars with permits provided. Inside it is very spacious well furnished and overall a great space to stay. Lots to do close by. Would stay again.

This was our first visit to Woodbridge and Deben Wharf was perfect for our needs. We were here for just a short while but will be returning in the summer. Woodbridge is a thriving community with great shops, pubs & restaurants, and real character in history. One visit to Woodbridge is not enough for sure!

This was our second visit to the property. The apartment has two large double bedrooms with a spacious en-suite and a separate bathroom, which was ideal for us travelling as two couples. The location is excellent - there’s a cafe and bar right behind the apartment block with beautiful riverside views and walks. It’s only a short stroll to town, where there are plenty of shops, restaurants, and supermarkets. We ordered an Indian takeaway from The Royal Bengal, which we’d highly recommend, and if you’re planning a trip to Ipswich Marina, The Forge Kitchen is well worth a visit. The apartment is very close to the rail line, but the trains pass slowly and aren’t disruptive. There were a few cleanliness and maintenance issues, but Stay in Suffolk handled our feedback professionally, which we really appreciated - we would happily book through them again. Overall, another enjoyable stay.

This is a lovely large apartment that is very modern and spotlessly clean with 2 large bedrooms in a great location restaurants on your doorstep and a short walk into town and the onsite free parking was a bonus the host gave very clear information about our stay and was very helpful we will definitely back soon
