Entire home/flat
4 guests
2 bedrooms
3 beds
2 baths The cottage was completed in 2007 to a very high specification and offers a blend of flexible open-plan living, yet has a cosy cottage feel. The cottage is light and spacious throughout. You walk into the entrance hall / kitchen / dining area and wet room on the right with French doors leading out to the rear. This area links wonderfully well with the sitting room to the left where there is a brick fireplace with an eco wood burner, with doors leading out to the back. The kitchen leads into a separate utility, with an indoor clothes airer / boot room with its own entrance (at the front of the cottage).
The ground floor is marble and engineered oak, with underfloor heating throughout. There are radiators on the first floor.
The oak staircase leads to a spacious first-floor landing area where you can enjoy the views and the horses frolicking in the fields.
There are 2 double bedrooms and a shared family bathroom. By default, the beds will be made up as 1 x double beds and 2 x single beds. Both bedrooms contain zip and link beds, so the house can also be made up as 4 x singles (2ft.6) or 2 x doubles (kingsize). Please let us know at the point of booking if you require any other bed configurations than the default.
Outside there is a generous shingled parking area large enough for 2 cars. The cottage has a south-facing garden to the rear that overlooks the gently undulating countryside beyond, and neighbouring paddocks and pastureland. Although the cottage is dog friendly, the garden is not enclosed, so is not secure for dogs off lead. There is a teak table and 4 chairs.
Should you wish to work whilst staying at the cottage, there is super fast wifi which can handle multiple devices at the same time.
The cottage is just a 10-minute drive from a number of popular wedding venues and is therefore equipped with a steam iron and ironing board, a full-length mirror and generous clothes hanging space.

The home was very nice and had amazing views in the rear with the neighbors horses! it was a quick 5 minute drive to the nearest town for shopping and restaurants. As we stayed during summer and the home is out in the country, we did experience a few bugs entering the home, but that's expected. The only downside was there was a large beehive right next to the master bedroom window so we were not able to open the window in that room which made it quite hot and uncomfortable at night. The host left is a nice welcome basket with Wisset Honey which was very thoughtful and fit the theme. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Me and my husband stayed here for our mini-moon and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect place to stay. The Old School house was spacious and the views were amazing. We will definitely be returning!

Lovely house, responsive and helpful hosts. Unfortunately there was a lot of noise during our stay - someone building a fence in the garden (not sure if this was the property or the neighbours) all day, and then a very loud mower going round at 9am bank holiday Monday. Otherwise a very nice stay, with thoughtful gift basket left for us.

Lovely spacious cottage - perfect size for our family of four and our dog. Views are lovely. Cottage has everything you could need for a comfortable stay. Very clean and well maintained. Recommend Southwold, Aldeburgh (and the walk to Thorpeness). We also loved Dunwich Heath and Walberswick. It’s a great base to visit all these places.

We loved the house so much. Really peaceful area, with a lovely view and easy to get to town for the shops. The furniture and little touches around the house were so beautiful, it felt like a real home. We really appreciated the very generous welcome basket and incredibly well stocked kitchen - we didn’t need to buy anything but our food. My children loved running around in the field outside and we loved sitting by the fire each evening. All in all a perfect stay, thank you!

We absolutely loved the cottage. We're so pleased the place we originally booked got cancelled! The cottage was warm, comfortable and had everything we needed. The Christmas decorations were a lovely bonus and the mince pies were delicious. We were in Suffolk to visit family and will definitely consider booking again for our next trip
