The February half-term feels like a tricky school holiday to navigate. It’s the first term break after Christmas, and parents are often at a bit of a loss when it comes to keeping the kids entertained. Luckily, Suffolk has plenty of fun and engaging events and activities to offer families in February, and we’re here to tell you all about them.
In 2026, the February half-term holiday for the majority of schools in Suffolk is from Monday 16 to Friday 20. In this article, we’ve put together theatre performances, short activities, and full days out happening during this school holiday, whether you’re local to Suffolk or visiting our wonderful county.

The Captain Calamity Half-Term Hullabaloo at The Seagull
A master of mayhem, magic, and comedy, Captain Calamity and his crew of crazy misfits are returning to The Seagull theatre to entertain families during February half-term. This show has it all, from show-stopping science stunts to plenty of custard pie antics to keep all ages laughing.

Annie Jr at Seckford Theatre
The classic and much-loved tale of little orphan Annie is coming to Seckford Theatre in Woodbridge. Performed by The Children’s Theatre Company, this junior adaptation of the family musical Annie is sure to capture hearts. Enjoy well-known songs, fantastic performances, and a truly wholesome story this half-term.

Sir Charlie Stinky Socks at New Wolsey Theatre
Watch brave Sir Charlie and his ginger cat Envelope in this engaging and interactive stage adventure! Full of bright colours, fun costumes, and memorable performances, this show encourages children to help build the story themselves. Young audience members are invited to help the troupe of travelling heroes with their own imaginative contributions. Based on the best-selling picture book by Kristina Stephenson, we highly recommend this performance for kids.

Fun For Little Ones – Tribute to Ms Rachel at Marina Theatre
Do your young children love Ms Rachel? Then this tribute event is the perfect show for them. Ms Rachel is a global sensation, and this tribute performance honours her with music, dancing, sing-alongs, and magical screen content. Kids can get up and boogie along with the stars in this engaging and imaginative show, leaving them with lasting memories (and some half-term energy burnt!).

Brickologists – A LEGO Fun Day at Aldeburgh Jubilee Hall
It’s time to get creative at the LEGO fun day by Brickologists. Held at the Jubilee Hall in Aldeburgh, this 2-hour event is for kids and grown-ups of all ages. Play, build, and compete in a timed Brickoff LEGO challenge for a chance to win prizes. There will also be plenty of Duplo bricks for younger children to safely play with. Better yet, everyone who takes part will go home with a small gift.

Brunch with Ariel at The Boot
Taking place in The Boot, near Ipswich, join Princess Ariel from The Little Mermaid for a morning of dancing and storytelling. You child will receive a Boot brunch or serving of delicious pancakes as part of the ticket price for them to enjoy while meeting Princess Ariel. This is the perfect little morning outing for any children who love Disney, and a wonderful photo opportunity too.

Clip ‘n Climb Ipswich
One of Ipswich’s most popular activities for the entire family, Clip ‘n Climb is for the adventurers. This centre is full of fun and exciting climbing walls, with most reaching 10 metres tall and all of them just as colourful and bright as the next. No climbing experience is required as all sessions come with a half-hour safety session before climbing begins. There are specific climbing sessions for toddlers, a brilliant soft play area for toddlers and younger children, and a cafe and diner when it’s time for a break.

Natural History Museum: Dinosaurs Live at The Apex
After last year’s success, the Natural History Museum are going on tour again! They’ll be visiting The Apex theatre in Bury St Edmunds to put on an incredible hour of engaging education. This prehistoric journey will take place on stage to delight dino-lovers of all ages, complete with life-like dinosaurs. Learn more about fossils, time scales, and how our beautiful planet has changed over the past hundreds of millions of years in this entertaining dino adventure. Please note: this show is not suitable for kids under 3.

Easton Farm Park
Head to beautiful Easton Farm Park for a few hours with the whole family. You and the kids can get close to the animals, including the farm’s Suffolk Punch horse, pigs, goats, donkeys, cows, highland cattle, llamas, rabbits, and chicks! The park hosts free activities every day, from egg collecting to animal grooming. Kids can ride the Sheep Shuttle, play in the outdoor adventure playground, and bounce on the giant outdoor pillow. Easton Farm Park often hosts events during the school holidays, which are announced close to the time (so keep an eye out for this year’s!).

For animal lovers of all ages, journey north to Africa Alive near Lowestoft.
