Suffolk is a great county to visit all year round; from its beautiful coasts to its medieval towns, there’s so much to explore, see and do. Although it only rains about a third of the year in this part of the country, we know it can be frustrating when the heavens open and you’ve made plans. Don’t worry, though – there are still loads of opportunities to make the most of a rainy day in Suffolk.
From great entertainment to Suffolk’s historical landmarks, we’ve rounded up some of our favourite wet-weather and Suffolk indoor activities, suitable for kids, couples, families – and some suitable for dogs to join as well – so everyone can enjoy a great day out, no matter the weather.
One of the top destinations for those interested in the art of craft brewing and distilling, experience the inner workings of this well-known Suffolk brand in the business for over 150 years.
Spirit lovers can go behind the scenes in the Copper House Distillery, where they’ll see first-hand how Adnams turns barley and other grains into vodka before re-distilling it with botanicals to create their award-winning gins.
If beer is your preferred tipple, then the Adnams Brewery tour is for you. Follow the brewing process from grain to glass, and discover Southwold’s rich brewing heritage, all from our experienced tour guides.
At the end of these 90-minute tours is a tasting session of either Adnams’ signature beers or spirits, plus any current seasonal releases available at the time of the visit. You will also receive a voucher for their Southwold shop to claim a free memento of the day.
